UNDER CONSTRUCTION -- PARDON MY PROGRESS, THANK YOU,
DORTHA
Meet My Goats:
SANDY
Sandy
(Alpine) is my herd Matriarch, she is a lovely Full Alpine. I have milked
her for three years now. She can be quite contrary. It is a battle
of the wills most days.
OREO
Oreo (Lamancha) is second in command. Oreo is Full Lamancha. Her kid is named Double Stuff!!
Double Stuff (1/2 Lamancha-1/2 Alpine) is Oreo's first kid. She was born March 2007.
All three of those girls gave birth in March of 2008, Oreo and Double Stuff on the same day. Oreo had two little bucklings and Double Stuff had one little buckling. Sandy gave birth on the 30th of March, she had one little buckling. I lost one of them and the other three went to the auction.
Ace (Alpine) is my current senior herd sire. He is proven, has
three on the ground.
Ivory (Alpine) is my current junior herd sire. He has kids due in March to both Oreo and Double Stuff.
My latest additions at the Farm are Dwarf Nigerians, they are suppose to be easy
keepers, eat half as much, need half as much room, give half as much milk.
Half as much milk is not a problem as most of the time I get more milk that we
use. So far, so good.
VICTOR
Victor is my Herd Sire for the Nigerian Dwarfs. I am hopeful that his
first kid(s) will be on the ground the end of February 2009.
Victor is from Lazy Q Farms in Fayetteville, Tennessee.
BOLO
Bolo (Dwarf Nigerian) is from Lazy Q Farms in Fayetteville, Tennessee
also, he is a companion for Victor. Males have a tendency to get bored if
left alone. Bolo is keeping Victor company and he is not bored and alone.
PIXIE
Pixie
has been with us since March of 2008. She will not be a year old until
December 22, I will not breed until she is a year old.
She has grown quite nicely. Se was sooo tiny when I picked her up.
She is from the Hollowbead Ranch in Tuscumbia, AL.
The three does (Dwarf Nigerian) below are also from the Hollowbead Ranch in Tuscumbia, AL.
They should all three be bred and due the last week of February 2009.
They are bred to my Herd Sire, Victor. After they freshen, I intend to milk some of them if they are willing. Pookey can be handled without problem. Niki is also easy to handle.
Midnight, so far, does not like to be touched. Time will tell.
If you are interested in any of the kids, email me and I will be happy to
put you on my waiting list for them. First come first served.
Midnight has blue eyes, so we can hope she will pass that gene on to her
offspring. They will be unregistered.
