Farm News-April 13, 2007

Well, since February 1 of this year I have been retired.  I love it.  I can take my time taking care of my animals in the morning, I don't have to go to the barn before daylight and I don't have to run through everything get back to the house change clothes and go to work.

My lovely  Alpine Dairy Goat, Sandy, is bred and due the end of May.  I am now milking one of the Lamancha Does, Oreo, she  freshened in March.  She had 1 kid, a little Doe.  I plan to keep her.

I am still enjoying making the Goat's Milk Soap.  I have several regular customers that won't use any other soap now.  My entire family uses nothing but my soap.  If is creamy and mild.  I have some very good fragrances, Mint, Lemon Cream, Sandalwood Vanilla, Lavender, Lavender Ylang Ylang, Lavender Vanilla, and Gardenia  to name a few.  I like to mix fragrances and have a special blend.  I have tried Tea Tree and Emu Oil.  I use Emu Oil to superfat most of my soaps.  I also like to re-batch (melt down and re-mold).
